Description
NEW DPM Captured Recoil Reduction System | S&W M&P Carry Comp 4.22" (18 lbs)
Overview: The DPM Captured Recoil Reduction System is a direct replacement for the factory guide/recoil rod on the Smith & Wesson M&P Carry Comp 4.22" barrel. This captured, multi-spring assembly cushions slide travel and acts like an internal buffer—reducing felt recoil, protecting slide/frame contact points, and smoothing follow-up shots without altering pistol geometry.
Compatibility
- Designed for: Smith & Wesson M&P Carry Comp with 4.22" barrel.
What’s Included
- 1 × DPM captured recoil rod (drop-in)
- Multiple internal/external spring elements as packaged by DPM
- Installation instructions and lifetime warranty documentation
How It Works
DPM’s captured system uses an intricate multi-spring rod (three springs). The inner spring and captured architecture control slide movement through the entire travel cycle — preventing the slide from ramming the frame and providing a buffered, progressive recoil impulse. In many configurations the system yields substantially higher slide end-force (buffer effect) than the OEM spring for superior protection and smoother operation.
Power Rates
- Slide in battery (closed): ~10 lbs
- Slide full open position (total buffered force): ~18 lbs
Key Benefits
- Reduced felt recoil — smoother impulse for faster sight recovery.
- Improved follow-up speed — less muzzle flip and faster shot-to-shot transitions.
- Slide & frame protection — buffered slide travel reduces mechanical impact wear.
- Enhanced reliability — designed to work with a range of ammunition and common modifications.
- Lifetime warranty — manufacturer coverage against defects.
Tuning & Installation Notes
- Always clear the firearm and follow safe-handling procedures before installing this part.
- Drop-in installation — no permanent modification required in most factory configurations.
- If your pistol has heavy compensators, ported slides, suppressor use, or non-standard modifications, verify function after installation and consider consulting DPM or a qualified gunsmith for optimal spring selection.
- Product designs may change; inspect box contents (springs/plugs/washers) and follow included instructions.
