    Just get a Gen5 G45 MOS

    When Glock debuted the original G19X, I thought it was a dumb idea. Short slide and barrel on a G17 length grip? At the time, I carried at the 3/4 o'clock position, and it made more sense to me to have a longer barrel and a shorter grip. Now that I carry appendix, the G19X and G45 make a lot more sense to me... Especially in the seated position. I know that's not the reasoning why the G19X was designed, but it's relevant in my EDC reality. I also own a Gen5 G45 MOS which I feel does EVERYTHING better besides look cooler. The G45 has front serrations which I've become accustomed to using, and it doesn't have that ledge in the front of the magwell that prevents use of Gen5 magazines. I tried to convince myself that the trigger felt better on the 19X, but it really doesn't side by side. Both have somewhat of a rolling break as I continue to apply pressure after hitting the first wall. Neither have an abrupt collapse like many other Glocks I have owned and/or shot. I may just have gotten lucky. It sucks that the G45 colored options only have colored frames. I suppose if they didn't, nobody would buy the G19X. Still an awesome gun if you're willing to swap your existing Gen5 magazine base plates with Gen1-4 base plates, don't like the two tone colored G45s, and don't care for front serrations on the slide.
