Ruger RXM Handgun 9mm Luger 15rd Mags(2) 4" - ODG Alloy Steel Slide and Frame

There are always going to be guns claiming to be the "Glock 19 Killer," and I have put many of those to the test. The most recent one being the various P365 X Macro variants. I would say there is some truth to what all those manufacturers claim about their models; however, it's usually only a certain aspect like thickness, magazine capacity, and maybe price. I don't think Ruger really attempted to replace the G19 or the P320 (modularity), they just understood the market. What do people want in a carry (potentially duty gun)? Modularity, sights you don't have to swap out of the box, a decent trigger, and direct mount optics (multiple footprints). Modularity is pretty low on my list of priorities. Most people just buy a separate gun instead of reconfiguring on the fly. I don't think anyone really does that. It's set and forget, but it's always nice to have the option to change grip sizes or even grip material if the purpose of the gun changes. The factory trigger is fantastic. It has a rolling break but retains a nice pop on the reset. Spongy break usually results in a sluggish or weak feeling reset. This trigger can be run pretty quickly. Direct mount optics for multiple footprints is also a bonus. Many people have extra parts and it's great if you can slap on an optic you already have regardless of the footprint. Lastly, the price is hard to beat. Even the blue line Glock Gen6 prices are $100+ more than the RXM. That's with the plastic sights that are immediately going to be replaced. Now that the RXM comes in a 19/45/47, and reconfigurable if necessary, it's hard for me to suggest going with the big G unless there is a work related reason to do so. Oh, I don't like that it comes with pmags, but replacement mags are affordable and plentiful.
